A Bright Blue Rose
I will never forget the evenings on the deck, looking at the sun disappear and sharing a glass of wine, while you played the guitar and Martin and I sang this song you taught me.
I will never forget your welcoming smile, when you picked me up at the airport for the first time.
I will never forget our trips around North Devon and the love for it you passed along onto me. The walks with the dogs, the rides on the van. All the words you taught me, the evenings singing with your friends. Your sense of humour. Your righteousness. Your somewhat unexpected tenderness.
I will never forget how much I admired you and your devotion for your wife Jan Deverell and your family. I remember thinking 'I want a Dev in my life".
Farewell, Dev Deverell . You made my world better and I will always be grateful for that.
All the love in my heart
